Estimate deductible savings
Formula
Annual savings ≈ Current collision+comp premium × deductible-tier factor. Break-even years = (New deductible − Old deductible) ÷ Annual savings.
How to use it
- Find your current collision + comprehensive premium
- Get quotes at $500, $1,000, and $2,000 deductibles
- Subtract to find annual savings at each tier
- Divide the deductible increase by annual savings — that's how many claim-free years it takes to break even
Worked example
Going from $500 to $1,000 saves $180/year → break-even at 2.8 years claim-free.
